The wine-growing area, in which our vines are cultivated, stretches along the river March. This region is characterized by a moderately continental climate with warm, Pannonian winds from the southeast and the temperature-balancing effects of the river March. The reflection of the stream's water surface increases both the local temperature and sunlight and thus raises our grapes' sugar content. As a result, our grapes usually reach a higher sugar degree of the must than those in the Weinviertler hinterland which is crucial for the exceptional character of our "wines along the March".
Of course, the soil decisively influences the character and quality of our wines as well. It is dominated by loess, clay, bedrock and black soil. This exquisite soil mix is significant for our full-bodied, spicy wines.
The prevalent Pannonian conditions, the sunny loess hills and the hydrating morning mist of the surrounding floodplain forests of the March-Thaya-Auen all
provide a favourable environment for fruity , almost exotic wines of oenological excellence,
outstanding quality , age-old hostory and deeply-rooted tradition.
Along with the extraordinary climate and the rich and fertile soil, it is the latest technology in winery as well as the extensive expertise and deep commitment of our winemaker Leopold Küssler that is essential for the unrivaled quality of our wines. In our vineyard, we cultivate almost all noble local varieties. Especially dry white wines such as the Grüner Veltliner and Welschriesling are representative of our region.
Further oenological delights include our Riesling , Chardonnay , Gelber Muskateller , Sauvignon Blanc and our fine Cuvees . Our red wines are mainly wines from the varieties Zweigelt and Blauburger.
Our wines are constantly awarded - nationally and internationally.
Of course, we are proud of our numerous gold medals , AWC, Salon Wines, Bacchus Awards and,
above all, on the title "Wine Champion". We also feel honored that our wines are offered in national and international
restaurants. But most of all, we wish to satisfy you, our customer, with our extensive assortment of wines and our service. Your satisfaction is one of our prime
objectives.
